Project KunLun

KunLun is a narrative experience, made for the 32 Bits Jam, a game jam about making games that looks like they were made for the PS1.

For this game, the team decided to go with a narrative project.
We play as the grandson of the concierge of a residential building.
Because he's sick, the player has to take his place, meeting the locals, and helping them in their daily life.

For this project, I mostly worked on programming the game, using Unity.
This means the mechanics and core systems, as well as the UI.
The biggest part of the programming was the creation of a custom dialogue system. This allows to manage the characters, the game's progression, activate some triggers and inventory checks, while also being tailored to allow translations.

The jam version can be seen as a prototype.
Nowadays, the team is still working on this project, little by little.
