Introduction)

Game made in 5 days, on the subject "Praising of the sidestep".
It's a 2D platformer, for one player.
This was made with Unity
On this project, I mostly did the Game Design, C# Programming, along with the Team Management.

Development

For this project, we used the subject in two ways :
Firstly, the sidestep as a platforming trope. It's a classic view, but it does the job.
Also, sidestepping as "not progressing". As such, FLÜK is made of a single level, that loops itself, with some variation.
In that way, the player still has a forward momentum, but only as a sidestep, by going to an alternative vision of the level, instead of a new place.

Creating this game was a rather nice experience. There weren't any game breaking bug, and we quickly made some tools to make the addition of levels quite easy.
Some work also went to using the Post Process, as a way to make the game prettier, mostly for the transition between the levels.
However, this became a problem, as the game may have become dangerous for people with light sensitivity. As such, some options were added, that limits the visual effects.

Conclusion & Results)

The game was well received.
There still are some bugs, mostly around the wall collisions, but they aren't a huge issue for the game experience.
The public liked the idea and the range of levels.
We may decry a lack of mechanics, but it's not a problem for a game that short, and it made us focus more on the level design.

This project is considered complete, as the team is satisfied with its current state.
